Network Activities

FY 2004 Exemplar Groups

In FY 2004 there were 19 Exemplar Groups. By convening these groups with similar expertise and experience, the program maximized outreach of available programs and materials to practice partners, highlighted progress of developed knowledge-based preparedness programs, and promoted CPHP-developed products as national preparedness resources.

Exemplar Group Charter
Each exemplar group developed a charter, including proposed activities and timeline, which was sent and approved by CDC program staff. Upon approval of the charter, the exemplar group, including the CDC expert liaison and ASPH coordinator, ensured implementation within the prescribed timeline.

Exemplar Group “Resource Guide”
The primary goal of each exemplar group was to develop a Resource Guide, defined as a written compilation comprised of comparative descriptions of national preparedness resources, developed from existing CPHP materials and programs. Each group was strongly encouraged to limit their review to CPHP resources, but other critical or noteworthy resources developed by experts outside of the CPHP network were also considered for the development of the Resource Guide. Groups also identified knowledge gaps and significant inconsistencies in preparedness guidance materials, to inform future CPHP activities.
