Mass Casualty & Postexposure Prophylaxis

Adult Preferred choices:

• Doxycycline - 100 mg PO BID
• Ciprofloxacin - 500 mg PO BID

Adult Alternative choices:

• Chloramphenicol - 25 mg/kg PO QID

Children Preferred choices:

• Doxycycline - If >=45kg give adult dosage If <45 kg then give 2.2 mg/kg PO BID
• Ciprofloxacin - 20 mg/kg PO BID

Children Alternative choices:

• Chloramphenicol - 25 mg/kg PO QID

Pregnant Women Preferred choices:

• Doxycycline - 100 mg PO BID
• Ciprofloxacin - 500 mg PO BID

Pregnant Women Alternative choices:
